AREOLAE REDUCTION
Large areolae in women are either genetically determined (congenital) or result from their expansion over time. Smaller areolae are an aesthetically positive criterion. The reduction in size of large areolae by surgical procedures involves the removal of exess pigmented areolae skin followed by the suturing around the areolae perimeter; the resulting scar is thus discreetly placed at the areolae border.
BASIC INFORMATION
- Generally, the procedure is performed under local anaesthetic but can be performed also under conscious sedation or general anaesthetic.
- The procedure can be completed in 30-45 minutes.
- Surgical stitches are absorbable and do not need to be removed.
- We recommend rest for 1-2 days after the surgery; with full physical load after 2 weeks.
- We recommend an elastic bra is worn for 2 weeks.
