HAIR REMOVAL – LIGHTSHEER DUET LUMENIS LASER HAIR REMOVAL

The diode LightSheer laser from Lumenis represents the most advanced laser hair removal technology used to attain gradual removal of hairs on the face and body with excessive or undesired hair. The laser uses the selective photothermolysis principle, which means that light energy is changed into thermal, which is subsequently collected in melanin, pigment of the hair follicle germ cells. The treatment is extremely effective for darker and thicker hairs; brighter and softer ones are removed less effectively. The number of treatments depends on the treated region. The hair removal is more successful when the hairs are in the growth phase, when its pigment volume is highest. By repeated thermal effects on the hair bulbus, followed by damaging the hair germinal centres, the hair growth ability disappears, the hair becomes thinner, loses its colour and its length is reduced. There are 30 % of hair follicles in the growth stage on the body on average. This is why sufficiently long pauses between particular treatments are recommended, in order that the maximum hair volume gets into an active growth stage and could be destroyed by the laser. The best time to repeat the treatment is the time when the hairs start growing again. By the laser hair removal, the desired effect of a smooth skin is achieved after three to six repeated treatments, depending on the treated region. Laser hair removal has a long-term effect lasting for several years.

BASIC INFORMATION:

• The procedure is non-invasive; the hairs must not be removed, epilated by epilators or epilation waxes, only shaved, 3-4 weeks before the planned laser hair removal;
• The treatments are undergone in 1-3-6-month intervals depending on the treated region on the body. The number of repetitions is 3 to 6 times on average; with respect to individual properties of the skin and hair, it can be bigger or smaller.
• Minor redness will disappear within 1-2 hours after the application; the treatment is followed by a gradual release of devitalized hairs, which makes the impression of growing hairs.
• The procedure is performed during the non-sunny period, while the given region must not be exposed to UV radiation one month before and one month after the procedure. The SPF 50+ photoprotection is recommended after the procedure.
